Botrus’s life is not just another journey; it’s a way of life deeply rooted in the land and traditions handed down by generations of shepherds.

He belongs to the vast hills of northern Jordan, where he moves with his flock of sheep, following the paths of water, sun, and rain. Botrus has always loved heading north toward Namel Valley, a place that once felt like an oasis of tranquility, with its wide green spaces, rolling hills, and sweeping slopes.

But in recent years, the developments that changed the character of the area have affected the shepherds . The once-pristine hills are now covered in trash and abandoned barbecue spots. One day, he lost some of his sheep after they swallowed plastic bags left on the ground. He tried to save them but soon realized he couldn’t afford the surgery costs.

Despite all the challenges, Botrus remains deeply tied to the land. He continues his journey, balancing his time between two worlds: the traditional way of life he strives to preserve and the modern world that increasingly imposes itself. Between these two worlds, traveling remains his lifelong path.
