Nawli Khoury, known as "Kouchi," is a sixty-year-old fisherman who has spent fifty years of his life at sea.

He learned fishing and diving from his father at a young age. Sadly, he shares the most difficult moment of his life—the forced departure from the sea due to the recent war in Lebanon. He says he would never have left his hometown of Tyre if it weren't for his family's insistence.
Kouchi is used to fish in the waters of Naqoura near the Lebanese-Palestinian border, close to Tyre. But today, he faces significant challenges because he can no longer fish there due to Israeli restrictions, making it hard for him to sustain his livelihood.
Yet, nothing can pull him away from the sea. With a smile, he jokingly says, "Even if you offered me a $5000 job, I wouldn't leave the sea! Just like a farmer loves his land, I love my fishing rod and net. My soul is tied to them."
