In his farm in Abu Jarash of Al-Salihiyah in Damascus Governorate, Abo Maher spends all his time in the land, living from its goods and products, between the birds and animals that became part of his daily life, Abo Maher with his sons and grandsons find their livelihoods.

Abo Maher is 89 years old, lived a life full of memories and changes. He witnessed the Syrian revolution and war, and faced continuous threats of bombing his land.

Tall buildings occupied the area covering all the green mountains and trees that were part of his daily life, and became full of trucks and construction sites. Noise and pollution replaced quietness and purity.

With all of these changes, Abo Maher refused all proposals of selling his land and always responded saying “I only know how to live among the trees and animals that my father and I have been raising since childhood, and now with my children and grandchildren."

Abu Maher preserved his farm believing in the trees ability to protect them from the noise and dirt of the city.
